The above photo was taken by the late Gene Trott of Hunnewell, Kansas.  Gene often accompanied me on herpetological field trips between 1974 and 1990.  The photo was one of many herpetological photos given to me by his sons after his death.  According to the information on the photo the snake was photographed in the wild just south of the Barber County, Kansas line in Oklahoma during May 1989.
